The name "Maddy's" has been chosen to honor the founder of Interlochen National Music Camp. Which has become the major economic force in the Interlochen area. Joseph Maddy started the camp in 1928, which blossomed into the Interlochen Center for the Arts. Which includes the Camp and an Academy as of today.
